Khao Sok Elephant Images

Khao Sok National Park is the most likely destination to see a wild elephant in southern Thailand.  We do not see them on every trip, but they are rather common sightings.

Mom and young elephant playing in the water. Kayaking is the easiest way to spot a wild elephant in Khao Sok.

This playing session lasted for a very long time. They did not seem to mind us watching.

When the reservoir is low, there is a higher likelihood of seeing elephants along the shoreline

If you are trekking in Khao Sok, your chances of seeing a wild elephant are fairly slim. Besides that, encountering a wild elephant when on foot is not 100% safe.

Rock Climbing Day Trip near Phuket

If you want to do a rock climbing day trip, but don't particularly feel like going all the way out to Phang Nga Bay, you’re in luck. Phang Nga Town offers some quality rock climbing opportunities.

There is a small park on the edge of town that offers some very nice rock climbing routes. Most of the routes are in the 5a to 6b range (5.8 – 5.10c), though there are harder climbing routes.
This lovely park was voted as the prettiest city park in Thailand!
Obviously, there are a few monkeys around too

There are enough climbs in the area that face different directions that you do not have to climb in the sun. Shade makes the climbing in Thailand much more comfortable and we are all about comfort.

Furthermore, even if it's raining a bit, the rock stays dry as all of the cliff faces are slighting over-hanging. That is not to say that they are all difficult. Many of the routes have nice rest stop throughout the climbs. Overall however, they tend to be at least slightly beyond vertical.

These are bolted climbing routes. The bolts are in great shape and maintained by the park. If you’re into traditional climbing, there are loads of routes available in all ranges. If you prefer top-rope climbing, that’s fine, we will set that up.

Phuket Wilderness Survival Day Trip

Survival Training

If you are interested in learning a bit about jungle survival, but do not have the time or budget to join us in Khao Sok National Park, you can participate in our one day wilderness survival course right here in Phuket.

A common edible ginger found all over Phuket

This is an 'A to B' 5 kilometer hike on fairly mild terrain. You will trek through secondary growth, some farm land and a bit of old-growth jungle. The footing is good and the trail is well marked.  At a reasonable pace, this hike would takes about two hours. As you will be stopping to participate in survival skills training it adds up to around four to five hours.

Learn survival skills such as survival fire starter methods, finding water, shelter building, and rope work. You will, of course, see wild edible plants along the way. Thailand abounds in wild edibles. There is always something nearby to eat.

A minimum of two guests are needed to run this survival course.

See our tour prices.

There are quite a few vines with drinkable water in them.

Mountain Biking Day Trips from Phuket

Koh Yao Noi Mountain Biking Day Trip

If you’re looking for a mountain biking day trip that combines natural beauty with cultural charm, visit Koh Yai Noi. This island has been able to maintain its charm in spite of its close proximity to crowded Phuket and Krabi. The pace of life on Koh Yai Noi is very relaxed.

Each trip is tailored to the participant’s desires. We only run small-group biking trips, so this is easy to coordinate. We have a few standard routes that are suitable for the generally active adventurer, but more challenging routes are also available.

Mountain Biking on Koh Yao Noi. The island is situated in the middle of Phang Nga Bay. We take a ferry to the island as that's the most environmentally responsible way to get there.

Phuket Mountain Biking Day Trip

Alternatively, you can join a Phuket mountain biking day trip and journey through rubber plantations, oil palm plantations, through small villages, across rice paddies, up and down hills, along single-tracks and on secondary roads.

We offer a number of routes and itineraries from very easy and laid-back to fairly strenuous. Mileage varies according to your desires too. If you’d just like to get away from the beach and bar scene of Patong for a while, we can show you a few hours of the more relaxed parts of the island. If you’d like to explore some single-track routes and push the envelope a bit, that’s fine with us. We’re here to give you a memorable experience in any realm you desire.

There are a lot of wonderful routes on Phuket. Single track trails are plentiful. It is extremely easy to get away from everything touristy on Phuket. We can offer you a casual ride or a very challenging one. Each trip is customized.

Phang Nga Bay Day Trip

The Serene Solitude of Phang Nga Bay with PaddleAsia

Explore world-famous Phang Nga Bay's many stunning islands, caves and mangrove channels in a way that is completely different from other tour operators. Our goal is to see the bay without seeing other visitors and to do it in proper sit-inside kayaks instead of sluggish sit-on-tops or inflatables. Unlike the others, YOU get to paddle your kayak. You don't have a guide paddle for you.

Our day trip is designed for first-timers and beginners. If you're an active person, you can do this.

We usually go to visit the hong in Ko Roi (a hong is a hidden inner island lagoon), Ko Kudu Noi and Ko Kudu Yai when we do day trips. Sometimes we also visit Ko Batang.

Like our multiday expeditions, this trip includes transfers from anywhere on Phuket (hotels, airport, bus station, etc), all equipment, lunch, snacks, and insurance. Family discounts and group discounts are available.

Christmas Holiday Schedule

There are still some openings during the Christmas / New Year period. This usually fills up fairly fast. We limit our trips to 8 guests max, even during this peak tourist season. In other words, we remain true to our goal of running only small group trips.

If you want a custom trip during this period, that is likely still possible too.
